a second chance for peanuts

A potential cure for peanut allergies give the nuts a second chance.

Peanut allergies can be life threatening, so the immediate benefits are obvious.

Not only would it save lives, but it would greatly increase the quality of life for peanut allergy sufferers.

Grocery store trips would be shorter-no more reading the ingredients of every item you put in the cart, even the ones that have always been 'safe' since companies change recipes and ingredients from time to time.

Potential sleepovers and birthday parties with friends would be less of a hassle and easier to enjoy. When someone brings cookies to share with classmates, a child wouldn't have to feel left out if they were chocolate chip peanut butter cookies. Kids wouldn't have to surrender half of their Halloween candy to their parents because it had nuts (I'm not saying candy is good for kids or shouldn't be rationed out, but it is sad when you're little and you can't eat the same things your friends can and you just don't understand why).

Teenagers in love would no longer have to quiz their date to see if they had any peanuts within the past 24 hours (see this article for more on the topic - )

Eating out would be easier. During my time allergic to wheat it was such a pain to have to ask if something had wheat in it and not be able to get a straight answer that sometimes it wasn't worth going out to eat. My favorite response I got one time at a fast food restaurant was "no it doesn't have wheat, it just has flour". The statement was so absurd that I nearly burst out laughing.
